Using the Guided Setup to Start a New Campaign

Guided Setup (Recommended for New Users)

The Guided Setup is a step-by-step wizard that helps you create a world one section at a time. You can find it by logging into Dicey.CC character builder under Quick Start.

Starting a New Campaign

Starting the Flow

Log into the Dicey.CC app.

Under Quick Start, click the Start a New Campaign button.

The wizard opens right on the Home page, and a progress bar with numbered steps shows how far you’ve gone. You can cancel anytime by clicking the Cancel (X) button at the top.

Step 1 — Name

Give your setting or campaign a name.

Enter a name in the text field.

A name is required. The Next button stays disabled until you enter a valid name.

Step 2 — Description

You can add a description for your world or campaign if you want. Players will see this during guided character creation or when using the Traditional Builder.

Write a summary of your campaign setting using the rich text editor.

You can use basic formatting tools like bold, italics, and lists.

This step is optional, so you can continue without adding a description.

Step 3 — Setting Rules

Choose which setting rules apply to your setting or campaign. Setting rules change how characters are built. For example, they can adjust starting Attribute points, Skill points, starting Edges, and more. They may also serve as references and to set the campaign’s tone.

Look through the list of available setting rules, or use the search box to find one by name.

Click a rule to see its details in the preview panel, including a description of what it does.

Click Use Setting Rule to add it to your world, or double-click a row to turn it on or off.

When you add a rule, a checkmark appears next to it in the table. To remove a rule, click Remove Setting Rule in the preview panel or double-click its row.

Add as many setting rules as you need. These rules are used when characters are created in your world.

This step is optional, so you can continue without choosing any setting rules.

Step 4 — Sources

You can import elements like Edges, Hindrances, Skills, and Gear into your new world from sourcebooks in the Shared Library or from other worlds you’ve made. This helps you build on what you already have instead of starting over.

Browse the list of available sources, or use the search box to find one by name.

Click a world to add it as a source. Click it again to remove it.

For each source you select, choose which types of elements you want to import by using the toggle buttons:

All: imports every element type from that source.

Abilities, Edges, Skills, Hindrances, Powers, Gear: turn each type on or off as you like.

To remove a source completely, click the X button next to it.

You can pick more than one source, and set different element filters for each one.

This step is optional, so you can continue without importing any elements.

Finishing Up

Click Create on the last step. Your world is saved, and any sources you picked are linked to the world. You’ll then go to the Data Manager, where you can keep editing your world and its elements.
