Traditional Editor

The Traditional Editor lets you edit any part of your character sheet in any order. It’s best for experienced players who already know the Savage Worlds character creation rules.

Starting a New Character

  1. Log into the Dicey.CC app.
  2. Navigate to the Characters page.
  3. Open a new character in one of two ways:
    • Click the Create Character button in the center of the page (shown when you have no recent characters), or
    • Open the sidebar drawer (hamburger menu icon) and click the New Character button at the top.
  4. In the Character Options modal that appears:
    • Select a world/campaign setting (subscribers and supporters only). Free users may create characters based on the Savage Worlds Core Rules.
    • Enter a character name.
  5. Click Create.

A blank character sheet opens with default settings. All Attributes start at d4, and core skills are added automatically and marked with a star. If the campaign setting gives starting characters extra Edges or Hindrances, those are added for you.

Editing Your Character

New characters open in Edit mode. Saved characters show as a character sheet. To make changes, click the Edit button (pencil icon). In Edit mode, you can change any part of the sheet:

Derived Statistics (read-only)

These are calculated automatically based on your Attributes, Edges, and equipment.

Adding Elements

For many elements, you can quickly search for and add something by starting to type in the appropriate box while edit mode is activated. Optionally, you can browse the catalog of relevant elements (Gear, Skills, Powers, Edges, and Hindrances) by clicking on the Browse icon.

When using the Element Browser, click an element to open the detail panel and see more information, click the + icon (or double-click on a row), or click the Add button in the detail panel to add it to your character.

Details Tabs

The bottom section contains a tabbed interface:

Note: Adding a new Advance locks the character’s build status (allocated attribute, skill, and Hindrance points and languages). Only changes to allocated Super Power Points (in worlds using the variant character creation method in the Super Powers Companion) will be recalculated.

Build Status

A status bar at the bottom of the screen provides real-time feedback on your character build:

Each category shows a colored indicator regarding the character’s build status. These do not prevent a change from being applied or saving the character.

Saving Your Character

Click the Save button (checkmark icon) in the header to save your changes. If you try to navigate away from the character with unsaved changes, you’ll receive a confirmation prompt warning you to prevent the changes or the character from being lost.

Printing

Click the PDF button (PDF icon) in the header to generate a printable version of your character sheet.
