Inviting Your Players

If you have a Dicey.CC Premium subscription as a Gamemaster (GM), you can invite your players to use Dicey.CC with your Campaign Setting. This guide explains how to send invitations, how players accept them, and what GMs can see on player character sheets.

Sending Invitations

You can manage player invitations from the Players tab in the World Editor. This tab is only available for worlds that you own, just like other world editing features.

Getting to the Players Tab

  1. Open the World Editor for your world. For more details, see Creating a World.
  2. Click the Players tab in the element navigation tabs.

Note: The Players tab appears only for saved worlds where you have edit permissions. If you just created a world and don't see the tab, save your world first and then reopen the editor.

Inviting a Player

  1. At the top, in the Invite a Player section, enter the player's email address.
  2. Click the Invite button.

The player will get an email with a unique invitation link. Each invitation is tracked separately and starts as Pending. You can invite as many players as you want. Each invitation is independent, so inviting one player does not affect others.

Managing Invited Players

Below the invite form, you'll see a Players list that shows all invited players and their current status.

PendingThe invitation has been sent but the player has not yet responded.
AcceptedThe player has accepted and can create characters in your world.
DeclinedThe player declined the invitation.

Each row for a player shows:

Revoking or Removing Players

Click the Refresh button next to the Players header to reload the list and see the latest statuses.

Accepting an Invitation (Players)

When a GM invites you to a world, you'll get an email with a unique invitation link.

How to Accept

  1. Click the invitation link in the email. Dicey.CC will open in your browser.
  2. If you are not logged in, sign in or create an account first. The invitation page will load after you log in.
  3. You will see an invitation card that shows:
    • The name of the world you've been invited to.
    • The world's description (if the GM provided one).
    • The profile name and email of the GM who invited you.
  4. Click Accept Invitation to join the world, or click Decline if you do not want to join.

After Accepting

After Declining

Already Accepted?

If you click an invitation link that you have already accepted, you will be automatically redirected to your Characters list. You do not need to accept the invitation again.

Invalid or Expired Invitations

If the invitation link is no longer valid, for example if the GM revoked it, you will see a warning message and be redirected to the Home page.

GM Access to Player Character Sheets

After a player accepts your invitation and creates a character in your world, their characters will appear in your character list. Player-owned characters have a player icon next to their name.

What GMs Can Do

What GMs Cannot Do

This permission model lets players keep full control over their characters, while GMs still have the visibility they need to run their campaigns.
